Voter awareness campaign conducted in Nyoma village
Leh, May 08, 2024: SVEEP Team Ladakh conducted a voter awareness campaign at Nyoma village on May 7. The campaign saw participation from employees, teachers, students, booth awareness group, health workers, and villagers of Nyoma.
The program started with the warm welcome by CDPO Nyoma, Zarina Banoo, to the SVEEP Team Ladakh SVEEP State Nodal Officer, Dr. Tsewang Morup, SVEEP State Icon, Phunchok Ladakhi and SVEEP District Icon, Stanzin Gya. The highlight of the program was the cultural performances presented by the students of Higher Secondary School Nyoma.
State SVEEP Icon, Phunchok Ladakhi began the program with the election theme song of CEO Ladakh. District SVEEP Icon, Stanzin Gya emphasized the importance of voting in a democratic country. He appealed to the people to exercise their voting rights diligently and without fail.
State Nodal Officer, SVEEP, Dr. Tsewang Morup briefed the gathering about SVEEP’s essential components like motivating voters, engaging voters, facilitating the voters, educating voters, empowering voters, and encouraging the voters. He also impressed upon the Electoral Literacy Club, encouraging teachers, and students to actively participate in setting up these clubs. Dr. Morup highlighted the significance of these clubs in promoting electoral literacy and fostering a culture of informed voting.
ZEO Nyoma, Nawang Namgyal presented the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude for the successful voter awareness campaign and urged the community to actively participate in the upcoming elections scheduled for May 20.
