Walkathon  Organises at GDCW Kathua

KATHUA, 2 June : Walkathon was organized by NSS,RRC, NCC units and Sports Department  of Govt. Degree College for women, Kathua  on 02-06-2023 to celebrate World Bicycle Day under the G20 Presidency of India.

The entire Programme was organized under the patronage of Dr Savi Behl worthy Principal of the college. The Walkathon  was flagged off  by Dr Savi Behl, esteemed Principal of the college , on this occasion, she appreciated the effort of  Dr. Arun Dev Singh, NSS Programme officer,Dr Vaishno Devi ANO, NCC,Mr Roshan Lal Sharma PTI for organizing such a wonderful Programme  in which  all the NSS ,RRC Volunteers,

  NCC Cadets and sports students participated with great zeal and enthuse. She encouraged, supported all the participants by saying that walk is very beneficial for their health and it would definitely reduce the tension, stress and work pressure and uplift their physical standard as well.

She also added that such practices shall develop positive atmosphere among the masses which will also pave the way of society for improving of health standard and make them disease free. She said that by using bicycle we can protect our environment and make society pollution free.

Dr Arun Dev Singh also spoke and motivated the Volunteers, NCC cadets and sports students to carry out the message among the people of use maximum bicycle and walk daily, using of bicycle we can reduce carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.

  He said that they must spread awareness among the people and   can  guide the children and masses to use cycle for their better health and added that by using cycle we can minimize our mental, physical and emotional stress and also suggested the volunteers that it would be helpful for  them and  they  may  have healthy , congenial and disease free life style, he motivated the volunteers and NCC cadets and  inspired them that they may also play a vital role  in the society to inculcate the spirit  of fitness, prosperity and happiness. Dr Vaishno Devi also spoke on the occasion and guided the NSS Volunteers, NCC cadets and sports students.
