Wanted bovine smuggler arrested in Samba; two animals rescued, vehicle seized

In a significant development, the Samba Police have arrested a bovine smuggler who had been evading arrest for some time. The operation, conducted by the Police Station Ghagwal team, also led to the rescue of two bovines and the seizure of a car allegedly used for illegal animal transportation.

The arrested individual has been identified as Tanver Ahmed, a resident of Anantnag. He was wanted in connection with a case registered against him at the Police Station Samba under FIR No. 44/2024.

In a separate operation, a police team intercepted a car with registration number JK02BB-5655 approaching from the Kathua side during routine vehicle checks at Naka NHW Tapyal. Upon further investigation, they discovered two bovines being illegally transported in the vehicle.

The rescued bovines have been taken into safe custody, and the car has been seized as evidence. The case investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to be revealed in the coming days.
