Weekly Block Diwas: DC Rajouri listens to public issues at Plangarh
RAJOURI, April 05: Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal today presided over a public outreach camp at Plangarh as a part of the weekly Block Diwas. The issues and demands highlighted during the event were speedy implementation of JJM, progress on Rajouri-Thanamandi-Surankote road, shortage of staff and health infrastructure at PHC Thanamandi, material payment for MGNREGA works, unscheduled power cuts, delay in execution of work on Plangarh Badanu to Chitti Bhatti Road, playground for GBMS Plangarh etc.
Officers from various departments educated the public on various schemes and programmes being implemented in the district and encouraged them to take advantage of them. The Deputy Commissioner listened to all of the issues raised by the public and assured them that the demands raised would be met.
During the outreach camp, the DC addressed the general public’s concerns and demands, and urged officers to take immediate action to resolve the issues raised by the public during the event.
Regarding the issue of scarcity of water, the DC said that dedicated efforts are being made to complete the work on JJM schemes in time to provide necessary benefits to the general public. He also urged the PRI representatives to ensure proper monitoring of work on the JJM projects being executed in the areas of their respective jurisdiction for their timely completion.
In response to the issue of unscheduled power cuts, the DC asked the concerned officer from the PDD to ensure the power supply to the public while adhering to the curtailment schedules. Responding to the issue of shortage of electricity poles, he also assured that adequate number of poles would be provided under RDSS scheme of the PDD Sector.
He also informed that work on PMAY-G and AWAS Plus houses is in full swing in Rajouri and efforts are being made to complete the set targets at the earliest. Regarding the issue of shortage of staff in health institutions, he assured that he would take up the matter with the concerned authorities.
DC Rajouri also sought the public’s support in the fight against drug abuse. He also urged people to come forward and help create awareness among youngsters and children about the ill effects of drug abuse, so that they can stay away from it at an early age.
Kundal assured the public that all their grievances have been documented and all their genuine concerns would be redressed in a phased manner with the intervention of the concerned departments.
