Weekly Block Diwas held at Qazipora Bandipora

BANDIPORA, JULY 10: In a significant step towards addressing public grievances and enhancing grassroots governance, weekly Block Diwas was today held at Qazipora Bandipora.
The event was presided over by Chairperson District Development Council, Abdul Gani Bhat along with Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Shakeel ul Rehman.
The event also witnessed participation of Vice Chairperson DDC Kousar Shafeeq, Officers from various government departments, local representatives, and public from all walks of life, including youth and senior citizens.
Local representatives and senior citizens from Qazipora, Putushay and other adjoining areas raised various issues including removal of encroachments on local streams, repairing of Eidgah fencing, improvement of school infrastructure, addressing issues related to drainage, solid waste management, improving electricity, macadamization of inner links of Putushay and other issues of public infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and other public utilities.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Shakeel ul Rehman said that Block Diwas is an initiative aimed at promoting direct interaction between the administration and the public, providing a platform for public to voice their concerns and seek redressal.
He assured the public that their concerns would be addressed promptly and effectively and issued on-the-spot directions for resolving various issues and directed the concerned officers to take immediate action and ensure regular follow-ups.
The Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Abdul Gani Bhat also addressed the gathering and urged for the redressal of public grievances on priority.
He highlighted the need for widening of Srinagar-Bandipora road and introducing new streams in Govt. degree colleges of Bandipora District.
The Vice Chairperson District Development Council (DDC), Kousar Shafeeq while addressing the gathering, emphasized the effective communication between the administration and the public to ensure that issues are resolved promptly and efficiently.
She also raised issues of drainage upgradation, solid waste management, and unavailability of dumping sites in the area.
Among others, CPO Mohammad Maqbool, AD FCS&CA Dr. Naseer Ahmad, DSWO, CMO, CEO, CAO, CHO, ExEn R&B, ExEn PMGSY, LDM, BDOs and other concerned were also present on the occasion.
