What Happened to Lila In Dune?

In the Dune: Prophecy Episode 2, we wonder whether Lila died at the end of the episode. Lila underwent the Agony ritual. But did she actually die at the end?

Tula’s Reveals About Lila’s Mother

Tula finally reveals something very important to Lila. She reveals that Lila’s mother died while giving her birth. It was Tula who took care of Lila since then.

This is when Tula bought up the special ritual called “The Agony” where Lila might get a chance to see her mother.

Lila agrees to perform the ritual. But now the tables will turn, as she will never get to know the secrets. Something happens to her during the Agony ritual. 

What Happened to Lila in Dune During the Agony Ritual?

As Lila was raised by the Sisterhood group. Lila’s grandmother Dorotea was the head of the Sisterhood tribe. But she was killed by a tribe member to take her position.

Lila knew very little about all this and hence was intrigued to find out all the secrets associated with her mother’s and her grandmother’s deaths.

During the Agony ritual, Lila was sent into a strange dark spiritual world. Lila meets her grandmother and great-grandmother inside the dark cave. They told Lila about the past and shared their knowledge. 

But then suddenly something unexpected happened. The poison that Tula offered Lila to perform the Agony ritual ended her life. Lila’s grandmother deliberately let Lila die and brought her to a different world in order to protect her from the cruel plans of the Sisterhood. Now Lila is stuck forever in the dark caves.

Is Lila Dead?

Well, Lila is one of the most important people in the Sisterhood. This can’t be the ending for her.

While she’s stuck in another world with her foremothers, it’s interesting to see how she discovers the truth about the Sisterhood. Whether Lila will ever be able to meet her real mother? 

Lila might make a comeback in the upcoming episodes of Dune. Whatever happens next, the Dune episode 2 surely left us on a cliffhanger.
