Will GTA 6 Be Crossplay?

Since that first reveal trailer back in 2023, Rockstar Games has been maddeningly quiet, only giving a wide 2025 release window.

It’s 2025 already, the fans are getting restless and demanding even the slightest hint of GTA 6 news. Finally, there’s some good news GTA 6 will release in October 2025.

Well, this is an exciting news for all the fans out there. With this news, many queries also pop up like Will GTA 6 be crossplay?

Let’s find out everything about GTA 6 in this article!

The Platforms: Where Will You Be Able to Play?

GTA 6 will arrive on PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, of course. We have no news on the PC release, and this is beginning to put PC gamers on tenterhooks. Based on its history with GTA 5, if Rockstar continues with its approach, then PC players may have a wait longer in store for them—GTA 5 hit PCs 18 months after console release.

Will GTA 6 Support Crossplay?

This is where it gets tricky. Crossplay, or playing with friends across platforms, is the most requested feature for GTA 6. Folks want to play with friends on other platforms, regardless of whether they’re on PlayStation, Xbox, or (in the future) PC.

But, in retrospect, it’s a stretch. Neither GTA Online nor Red Dead Redemption 2’s online mode has ever had crossplay, so players on all platforms are in their own little bubble. For now, it doesn’t look like Rockstar is in a rush to change that.

Could Crossplay Happen?

There is hope still. With all of us begging them, Rockstar might surprise us. There is a catch, though. GTA 5’s PC version has had a cheater problem, and Rockstar might be hesitant to unify platforms unless they are sure they can police any moderation problems.

So until Rockstar makes an announcement, the best we can do is keep our expectations realistic and be pleasantly surprised if crossplay does happen.
