Winter Wonderland unveiled: Guldanda charms tourists at Vibrant Bhaderwah Festival

DODA, DECEMBER 30: The fourth day of the Vibrant Bhaderwah Festival unfolded at Guldanda, draped in a pristine snow blanket, captivating tourists from across India. A collaborative effort of the Tourism Department, District Administration, and Academy of Art, Culture, and Language played a pivotal role in the event’s success.

Under the sunlit sky, Guldanda transformed into a hub of entertainment, offering a medley of activities such as music, snow cycling, sledging, and diverse food stalls. The festival’s vibrant atmosphere left an indelible mark, drawing in visitors from different states. Notably, local and visitors showcased traditional dance, further enhancing the enchantment.

The Bhaderwah Festival showcased traditional hilly celebrations, featuring cultural performances, local cuisine exhibitions, and a variety of outdoor sports. From local sports to winter activities like skating, skiing, sledging, zip-lining, zorbing, and paragliding, the festival emphasized the winter charm of the Chenab Valley, enriching the tourist experience and promoting the region’s rich heritage.

Within the Vibrant Bhaderwah Festival, the Guldanda Snow Festival unfolded as an enchanting showcase of winter wonders. The snow-covered landscape provided the perfect backdrop for a blend of winter sports, cultural performances, and local cuisine, solidifying Guldanda’s status as a captivating winter destination.

The cultural program, featuring artists from Gujarat and celebrity artists of our UT like Saras Bharti, Shaib Kandoo, and Zulaikha Fareed, mesmerized the audience with traditional folk music in the form of Gorjari folk songs, and dance performances etc. Local artists also contributed with folk songs, entertaining both tourists and the local public. Fun games, adventures, local performances, and cultural activities, along with stalls selling traditional Bhaderwahi thali and local dishes, were the main highlights of today’s event. The festival also features snow sculpting, where artists from different parts of the country display their talent by creating intricate sculptures out of snow. Visitors can witness the artists at work and marvel at their creations. The festival atmosphere is filled with enthusiasm and joy as visitors participate in various competitions and games. As the sun sets, the festival culminates with a grand firework display against the snowy backdrop.
