Women College Udhampur hosts awareness lecturer on cyber law; Conducts Cleanliness drive under mission life
UDHAMPUR, MAY 25: Government College for Women Udhampur today organized two major awareness-cum-promotional events,here on the College Campus.
The Cyber Jaagrookta Club of the College organized an awareness lecture under the aegis of G-20 and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The topic of the lecture was Cyber law: Need and importance . The event was organized under the guidance and support of the College principal Prof. AnjaliMahajan. Aim of the activity was to create awareness among the students regarding the need and importance of Cyber law that can be useful to them while encountering various types of cyber thefts when working online.
The resource person of the lecture was Sandeep Kour, member Child Welfare Committee Udhampur. She explained in detail the concept and importance of Cyber law. She briefed the students about various practices that are required to be adopted while working online. She also discussed various cyber laws that are helpful to prevent the distress caused from various types of cyber threats like online financial frauds, spamming, email hacking, online abusing, stalking, data protection and privacy etc.
About 84 students attended the lecture and acquired knowledge about various cyber laws. The principal of the college appreciated and encouraged the organizers to conduct more such awareness lectures in future. The senior faculty members who attended the lecture were Dr. Seema Sharma (HOD Music), Dr. Mool Raj (HOD Urdu).
Meanwhile, To aware the students about the importance of cleanliness in their community, neighbourhood, streets and public spaces, Swachhta Action Plan (SAP) Club, ECO Club and NSS unit of the College, in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India organized a cleanliness drive on the college campus in continuation with the ongoing activities under Mission Life for environment and World Environment Day, 2023 under the presidency of G20 and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
About 80 volunteers participated enthusiastically in the cleanliness drive. They picked and segregated biodegradable and non-biodegradable and disposed of the waste in prescribed manner. Around 8 Kg of plastic waste was collected and handed over to ragpickers. Biodegradable waste was disposed of in a pit. The students participated wholeheartedly in the cleanliness drive and spread the message among other students to keep the campus clutter free.
Earlier, Prof Sumita Rao, NSS PO motivated the students by highlighting the importance of making the environment clean and green. She also highlighted the benefits of Mission Life as it connects the power of people for the protection of earth and Mission Life directs our energy to fight against climatic change.
Among others, Prof. Ashni Devi (HOD Botany), Prof. Yash Paul (HOD History), Yash Kumar (Assistant Professor of Music), Rahil Gujral ( Lecturer) and Pardeep (Lecturer) actively participated in the cleanliness drive.
