Women empowerment imperative for harmonious growth of society: Bimla Luthra
JAMMU, April 28 : Describing women empowerment imperative for harmonious growth of the society, former MLA and National Conference leader, Mrs Bimla Luthra on Friday stressed their larger role in decision making.
“National Conference has pioneered several schemes to empower women and ensure their upliftment from time to time”, Mrs Bimla Luthra said while addressing women workers of the party at village Dabber in Bishnah Constituency. The meeting was organized by Bharti Devi.
Mrs Luthra said the mission undertaken by the National Conference for women emancipation is needed to be carried forward in a big way. She said though women have made significant contribution in every field and were excelling in various sectors, especially education, yet more is needed to be done.
“This is possible only by strengthening National Conference, which alone can meet the challenges confronted to the state”, the former MLA said and cautioned the workers to remain vigilant against the machinations of divisive forces, which were creating wedge between various segments of society. She assailed the BJP for pursuing polarizing politics saying this is detrimental to the interests of the state, known for its unity in diversity.
Those who were present in the meeting included :- Mrs Santosh, Mrs Kanta, Mrs Veena, Mrs Rani, Mr Dolly and others.
