Women tie Rakhi, apply mehndi to CM Mohan Yadav in MP’s Dindori

Dindori (Madhya Pradesh) [India], August 16 (ANI): A group of women tied Rakhi and applied mehndi (henna) to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav who arrived here to attend ‘Raksha Bandhan and Sawan Utsav’ program in the district on Friday.

CM Yadav also sang the songs which are sung during the auspicious sawan month by sitting along with the women on the occasion. Besides, the women handed a large Raksha Bandha to the chief minister on the stage.

Along with this, the chief minister also performed the bhoomi pujan and inauguration (digitally) of 38 development works worth Rs 147.80 crores in the district.

“Today I have come to Dindori district on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi. During this, I performed Bhoomi Pujan and inauguration of development works worth Rs 147.80 lakhs and also made announcements of various works. I have also got Rakhi tied from Ladli Behnas,” CM Yadav told reporters.

“Dindori is our backward district and its long road map for the future has been prepared. I hope that it will catch the pace of development in a very good manner. I am happy that this district of our tribal region, Baiga, Sahariya, Gond people will definitely catch the path of its progress,” CM said.

He further extended greetings to everyone for the upcoming Raksha Bandhan and Krishna Janmashtami festival.

A woman who tied Rakhi to CM, Shanti Bhai said, “Today, I tied Rakhi to CM and he extended gratitude for it. He was also very happy upon getting rakhi tied. I also received a return gift from him.”
