Work kick started on Heritage Library, Youth recreation Centre at Poonch Fort
Facility to offer Placement, professional career counselling, Skills Development opportunities
POONCH, MARCH 06: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary kick-started work on Heritage Library and Youth Recreation Centre inside Iconic Poonch Fort (Qila).
The facility would have a Heritage Library, Career Counselling & Guidance Centre and an office room, all under the AVSAR scheme. The focus would be on connecting youth with their heritage and provide them with placement opportunities and career counselling, guidance and skill development opportunities.
The DC launched the work in presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik, Deputy Director Employment, Mohammad Rafiq, Tehsildar Haveli, Azar Majid, EO Municipality, Yaqoob Choudhary, besides Assistant Engineers and other concerned officers.
After the inauguration, the Deputy Commissioner asked the executing agency to complete the project within the stipulated time frame as per the prescribed quality parameters.
The facility of Heritage Public Library cum Youth Recreation Centre aims to provide an enabling environment to the youth for personal and academic growth, offering a rich collection of books, resources for counselling and guidance and a dedicated space for staff to facilitate career development opportunities.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the significance of the project as being established in the heart of the city with an extended aim of heritage conservation.
