World Earth Day celebrated with plantation drive in GDC, Khaltse

Khaltse, April 22, 2025 — The Forest Department, in collaboration with Government Degree College Khaltse, celebrated World Earth Day with a plantation drive on the college campus, under the global theme “Our Power, Our Planet.”

The programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Yangdol, Principal of Govt. Degree College Khaltse, and Mr. Abbas Ali, Block Officer, Forest Range Khaltse, who planted the first sapling to mark the beginning of the event.

Students, faculty, and forest officials actively participated in the drive, emphasizing the importance of collective action in protecting the environment. The initiative aimed to spread awareness about climate change, biodiversity conservation, and the significance of green spaces.

The event reflected a shared commitment toward building a more sustainable and eco-friendly future.
