‘World Health Day’ celebrated at Shopian
SHOPIAN, APRIL 07: Health Department Shopian in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Shopian celebrated World Health Day at Mini-Secretariat Shopian today.

Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr. Arshad Hussain Tak was the chief guest on the occasion.
During inaugural speech, CMO said that the goal of World Health Day is to raise awareness about global health issues and encourage individuals, communities, and governments to take action towards improving health outcomes for all people, regardless of their socio-economic status, location, or background.
District Nodal Medical Officer, Shopian highlighted the role of the Ayush in improving the health standard of the people.
Dr. Mohd Yousuf Naikoo’s and Dr. Abdul Rashid Parray provided crucial information in raising awareness about both health and legal rights. The inclusion of sessions on government health schemes and the intersection of law with healthcare access is especially valuable, as many individuals may not be fully aware of the resources available to them.
The goal is to educate people on the importance of taking care of their health and well-being, and to advocate for better access to healthcare, improved public health systems, and the reduction of health inequalities.
The officers and officials of the health department and other concerned were present.
