World Kidney Day observed at GHS Bijarni-Doda
DODA, MARCH 14: Acting upon the directions of the Director Health Services Jammu Dr Rakesh Magotra and under the guidance of CMO Doda Dr Om Kumar & BMO Ghat Dr Abdul Gafoor, an awareness programme to celebrate the “World Kidney Day” was held at GHS Bijarni under AAM- Sub Centre Bijarni District Doda.
The day is celebrated every year on the 2nd Thursday of March all over the world to create awareness about kidney diseases.
Mr Faizan A Tramboo from the health department on this occasion delivered a lecture about the importance of kidneys and reducing the frequency, impact of kidney diseases and its associated health problems.
The health team also encouraged the participants and general public to take care of their kidneys right from childhood to ensure a healthy life ahead. The stress was laid on healthy life style, which includes regular exercises, keeping weight in check, monitoring blood pressure regularly, having adequate fluid and most importantly restrain from smoking and self-medication.
The programme was attended by a large number of students, staff and general public of the area.
Headmaster of the School Nuzhat Jabeen thanked the health department, particularly CMO and BMO Ghat for organizing awareness programmes in the school on a regular basis. She said that such programmes will surely boost the talent and knowledge among students about various diseases and makes them to live healthy & happier life.
