World Malaria Day 2023 observed across Samba
SAMBA, April 25: World Malaria Day 2023 was today observed across the District Samba under the theme “Time to deliver zero malaria: invest, innovate, implement” to create awareness about malaria; and to intensify preventive measures and preparedness for the control of disease in the district Samba before transmission season starts.
In this regard awareness programmes were organized by the health department all over the district under the overall supervision of Chief Medical Officer, Samba, Dr. Vidhi Bhatial.
Awareness events were held at various sites, including Lord Krishna Higher Secondary School Samba and Government Boys Higher Secondary School Samba.
During the Information Education and Communication programmes, awareness lectures and other events were organized. The awareness lectures were delivered to pupils and staff of the school by the health staff and information regarding the signs, symptoms, spread and treatment about malaria was given to the participants. District Health Officer, Dr Anju Bala appealed the public not to leave water in coolers, tyres, empty bottles, bottle caps, pits etc to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes. Besides, Pamphlets regarding malaria were also distributed among the children.

Similar programme was also organised by Medical Superintendent District Hospital Samba at District Hospital Samba and Block Medical Officer Ramgarh at CHC Ramgarh.
Poster pasting was also done by the malaria teams in different locations of the district.
