World Population Day observed at District Hospital Poonch

Participants discuss significance of family planning and alternative spacing methods for population control

POONCH, July 11: World Population Day was observed today at RSS District Hospital Poonch under the supervision of Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan and District Immunization Officer, Dr. Zoohra Parveen.

The event was attended by Asha Facilitators, field staff, ASHA workers, and members of the general public.

During the event, Dr. Zoohra Parveen and Anjali Sharma JHI delivered a lecture on the importance of various temporary and permanent spacing methods for family planning.

The officials emphasized the significance of family planning in controlling population growth and its effects on biodiversity, ecology, the environment, and the country as a whole.

The officials also gave instructions to staff and ASHA workers on how to encourage beneficiaries to adopt alternative spacing methods for the fixed services that are now provided on fixed days of the week.

The participants were urged to spread awareness about family planning and its benefits in their communities.
