Dhangri terror incident showed that no one safe in J&K: Iftkar Ahmed
RAJOURI, January 12: Today a preparatory meeting of upcoming Bharat Jodo Yatra was held at Dak Bungalow Rajouri under the leadership of Iftkhar Ahmed, National Spokesperson, Indian Youth Congress in which Uday Bhanu Chib, State President PYC J&K presided over. The meeting was organised by Abrar Ahmed, President DYC Rajouri, Fayazi Mirza General Secretary PYC J&K and Amit Sayal, PYC Secretary J&K.
In the meeting, they appealed to the general public, particularly youth, to participate in the forthcoming Bharat Jodo Yatra led by AICC leader Sh Rahul Gandhi ji.
Iftkhar Ahmed said that elaborate arrangements are being made to make the Bharat Jodo Yatra a grand success in J&K. He said Rahul Gandhi, through Bharat Jodo Yatra, has been raising a voice against the politics of division, rising unemployment, and problems being faced by the farmers and other weaker sections.
Iftkhar Ahmed, while strongly condemning the Rajouri terrorist attack, said that the situation in J&K has turned grim with terrorists now carrying out targeted killings at their will in Jammu region as well. He said that the recent terror incident in Dhangri village of Rajouri followed by an IED blast is enough to prove that no one is safe in Jammu and Kashmir as terrorists are targeting the vulnerable sections without any fear of law. He demanded that the government should brace-up the security grid and mobilize the intelligence network to ensure that such horrendous attacks should be stopped in the coming time.
Uday Chib said the Bharat Jodo Yatra is a historic movement and said that people of Jammu especially the youth of the state are eager for their welcome. He said that preparations are going well for the Yatra and it is being ensured that the Yatra will sail smoothly when it comes to the region.
“The Padyatra will receive the same response in Jammu Kashmir as received by the Yatra in other parts of the country. Youth Congress are working with great enthusiasm ahead of the yatra in the state,” he added.
Uday said it’s the need of the hour that people from across the nation show their stand against the Centre’s divide and rule policy by marching together for unity. “We are meeting with people to deliberate upon the preparations so that no stone is left unturned,” he added.
