Yuva Shakti Mahotsav Concluded at Central University of Jammu

Jammu, 24th January 2025: The Department of Educational Studies, in collaboration with the Office of the Dean, Students’ Welfare, successfully organized 10 days, “Yuva Shakti Mahotsav,” at Malviya Shiksha Bhawan, Central University of Jammu, under the esteemed patronage of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain. Every year the event begins on the Birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand.

Dr. Kiran, the event’s Convenor shared the outlines and said the program was organized in Several stages: Bahu Shakti,  Mann Shakti and Kala Shakti.

Prof. Ritu Bakshi, Dean of Students’ Welfare, Prof. Uday Pratap Singh, Associate Dean of Academics, CU Jammu, and Prof. Asit Mantry, Head of the Department of Educational Studies, chaired the event. In his inaugural address, Prof. Uday Pratap Singh highlighted the importance of empowering young minds and fostering a culture of innovation and skill-based education. He also said spiritual intelligence is the most essential tool for youth to enrich their growth, progress, and success. Prof. Singh encouraged the students to learn about Swami Vivekananda to awaken the nation’s young minds.  

Prof. Ritu Bakshi also urged the youth to participate in various activities as planned for the all-round development of their personality. Prof. J.N. Baliya senior faculty appreciated the committee for organizing such meaningful events.

Under the Baahu Shakti (Physical Strength),various games and competitions were conducted in which students from B.A. B.Ed. and M.Ed. programs displayed incredible enthusiasm and energy throughout the day. The event featured various physical games, promoting strength, teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship. Participants competed with great determination, reflecting the core values of collaboration, discipline, and perseverance. The  Mann Shakti (Mental Power) featured various activities, including poster making, painting, sketching, slogan writing, poem writing, recitation, and book reviews in which students from the B.A. B.Ed., M.Ed., and PhD participated enthusiastically, presenting their artistic and literary talents. The event highlighted the students’ ability to combine imagination with critical thinking, emphasizing the importance of creative expression in holistic education. Similarly, the Kala Shakti event celebrates students’ artistic and cultural talents, focusing on poem recitation and song performances aligned with the themes of Youth, Nationalism, and Swami Vivekananda.

The event provided a platform for students to express their creativity and reflect on the values of patriotism, unity, and self-reliance inspired by Swami Vivekananda and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Through heartfelt poetry and melodious songs, participants captivated the audience, delivering powerful messages that resonated deeply with the spirit of the occasion.

During this event, Swami Yajnadharananad Ji, Secretary Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Jammu, addressed the youths and emphasized that the youth must have a great aim in their life. On this occasion, the second issue of a bi-annual magazine –Devikawas released by Swami Ji and other dignitaries.

Today’s the programs was successfully concluded with a grand Valedictory Session and prize distribution. The Valedictory Session was graced by Sh.  Ashish Suri, Controller of Examinations, who was the esteemed Chief Guest. In his inspiring address, Sh, Ashish Suri applauded the department’s and the students’ efforts to organize a meaningful event that blended cultural expression with educational values. He emphasized the importance of holistic education in shaping responsible and empowered youth, urging students to carry forward the teachings of Swami Vivekananda in their lives. Prof. Asit Mantry in his welcome address explained the difference between moral, religious, and spiritual life as envisioned by Swami Vivekanand.

The session featured the felicitation of students who excelled in competitions, including Baahu Shakti, Mann Shakti, and Kala Shakti. Winners were presented with certificates and accolades, acknowledging their exceptional performances. The judges and panel members, including Miss. Shivali Khajuria, Miss Aastha Gupta, Dr. Arun Sharma, Dr. Vishal Mor, and Dr. Shubham Amar, were also honored for their contributions to the event’s success.Faculty members – Dr. Aman, Dr. Yad Ram, Dr. Mohan Galgotra, Research Scholars, and students witnessed this grand event. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Shivali Khajuria.
