Yuva Vani: GHSS Badhat students acquainted about HADP schemes

KISHTWAR, December 07: The Yuva Vani awareness program was today held at Government Higher Secondary School Badhat in Block Drabshalla to attract Students and local youth towards Agri-preneurship schemes under Holistic Agriculture Development Program.

The event was conducted on the direction of Principal Secretary Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Department, J&K UT,   Salindera Kumar   and guidance of Director Agriculture Jammu, Ram Savak and District Nodal officer/Chief Agriculture Officer Kishtwar, Amjad Hussain Malik.

Students, local youth and Farm Women (SHG) evinced keen interest in employment opportunities in the agri-sector.

 The participants were encouraged by experts to become job providers instead of job seekers by undertaking projects under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), in the  Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, and other allied sectors. They were also informed about Kisan Sathi and Daksh Kisan.

  Block Nodal Officer, Ampy Singh (AEO coordinated the event  in the presence of Sanjay Kumar Sharma, District Agriculture Officer Kishtwar, Nadeem Gundana I/C Principal HSS Badhat along with other staff members.

  The AEO enlightened the youth about the benefits of agriculture as a profession. Dr. Umair (VAS) Animal Husbandry, I/C AEO Kandani Safia Dev Jan, Sanjeev Gupta JAEO, Mohd Saleem JAEO, Narindre Kumar Gupta, officers/officials of other departments, besides a large number of students and youths, and Women Self Help Group (SHG) were present on the occasion.
