Zinc futures rise on high demand

New Delhi, Sep 26 (PTI) Zinc prices on Thursday rose Rs 2.95 to Rs 277 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for September delivery traded higher by Rs 2.95 or 1.08 per cent at Rs 277 per kg with a business turnover of 2,857 lots.

Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
