Zinc futures rise on spot demand

New Delhi, Jul 27 (PTI) Zinc prices climbed Rs 3.15 to Rs 222.15 per kilogramme in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand on Thursday.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for August delivery traded higher by Rs 3.15 or 1.44 per cent at Rs 222.15 per kg with a business turnover of 3,946 lots.

Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
