Zinc futures rise on spot demand

New Delhi, Aug 1 (PTI) Zinc prices on Tuesday increased 50 paise to Rs 227.85 per kilogramme in the futures trade, amid a pick-up in spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for August delivery traded higher by 50 paise or 0.22 per cent at Rs 227.85 per kg with a business turnover of 4,532 lots.

Marketmen said widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
